Departure from Zanzibar to Mikumi for a day-trip Safari tour by flight is the fastest option, flying takes about 1hr. This is the to option that take very less time to arrive in Mikumi but also with a higher cost of around $250 per person for a day trip package.
While there is no direct SGR to Mikumi, the train goes to Morogoro for about 1hr, from Morogoro SGR station we arrange pick-Up for a road transfer for about 2hrs road transfer, also this option overall affordable cost ranging $20 to $50.

You'll board the train, which typically departs around 6:00 a.m. for the roughly 60-minute journey to Morogoro. During the comfortable ride, you can enjoy views of the Tanzanian countryside. Upon arrival at the Morogoro station around 7:40 a.m., your professional safari guide will meet you and transfer you in a 4x4 safari vehicle for the 2-hour drive to Mikumi National Park.
Game Drive and Bush LunchUpon arriving at the Mikumi park gate around 09:00 a.m., your guide will handle the registration, and you will begin your safe and incredible game drive. The route often takes you through the Mkata Floodplain, sometimes called "Little Serengeti" for its abundant wildlife. You'll spend the morning spotting a variety of animals, such as lions, elephants, giraffes, buffalos, and zebras.
